An ancient-style architectural complex enables people to time travel to a commercial center more than 1,000 years ago
　　
　　Just before noon, more and morepeople poured into the temple fairheld at the Tang West Market, agroup of ancient-style buildings inXi’an, capital of northwest China’sShaanxi Province. It was the LanternFestival, the conclusion of the 15-dayChinese Lunar New Year celebration and theend of the temple fair, making it the fair’smost festive day.
　　Temple fairs are a traditional way forthe Chinese to celebrate their Lunar NewYear, which fell on February 3 this year.Considered one of the largest in China, theTang West Market Temple Fair attractedabout 100,000 persons every day for afortnight. Walking through streets adornedwith various lanterns and other festival ornaments,visitors found themselves surroundedby traditional art, folk performance, as wellas tasty local snacks.
